Volunteer with us!
RSVP (formerly known as the Retired Senior Volunteer Program) provides opportunities for older adult volunteers, age 55 and older to reinvest in Van Buren area communities. We place individuals in service areas of their choosing based on their skills, interests, and schedule. Some areas of service include medical transportation, tax assistance, minor home repairs, building handicap ramps, food distribution, working at one of our senior centers, or assisting with short-term projects.
“It is a shame to know all of the answers, when no one bothers to ask you the questions.”
Americorps Seniors RSVP volunteers choose how, where and when they want to serve, with time commitments that vary from person to person. You will forge new relationships with people in your community while serving others. Our volunteers have skills and wisdom acquired over their lifetimes. You may choose to volunteer in an area you are familiar with, or decide to try something new. Not only do we benefit from the service of volunteers, research suggests that older adults enjoy physical and mental health benefits from volunteering.
We can help you sign up for what interests you and works with your schedule.
